Lucas's Star

Lucas recently lost his dad. But where has he gone? Like Lucas, many people have lost a loved one during their childhood. It's hard for those around them to talk about death in simple, comforting terms. This book, with its illustrations, will be a companion in painful times. Because Lucas is a bit like me. Yes, because I lost my father when I was very young. I suffered this separation, depriving me of a reference point. I felt alone, even if I wasn't really. Today, I've decided to create this little book to help the younger ones overcome their grief and find their star too.

This children's book tells the story of a sad little boy, because his daddy has died. It's a situation and a word he doesn't understand. But with time and explanations, the child grows up and becomes happy again, because he now knows that his beautiful star is watching over him... The illustrated pages and simple words in this book are designed for young children who feel lost when faced with the disappearance of someone close to them, be it a parent, a great-grandparent, a friend, a pet... Any child can find themselves in this situation. The aim is not to explain death in detail. But, I hope, it will lead to discussion and provide answers between the child and those around him or her. Because death is a reality, both difficult and complex, it's important to be able to talk about it, gently and calmly, from an early age, so as to understand, comfort and not be afraid of it.
